Best Months For Weddings In Miami

Welcome back to another weekly blog. This week we will be discussing a topic we have yet to cover. Many of these readings have perused style, decor, trends, aesthetics, date ideas for the happy and so much more. But we have yet to discuss the best time of year to do all of this. Because we are the Brides Of Florida, we will be covering the best months for weddings in Miami. So if you’re a local or looking for a destination wedding spot, keep on reading to get the inside scoop.

Now, because Miami is in the “Sunshine State” it’s commonly believed that it’s perfect sunny weather all year round. If you’re a true Miamian, then you know that this is far from the truth. While we may not get snow, we still have our peak sunny months as well as cooler weather times of the year. We’re gonna break it down for you. From the hottest months to the “winter” months to the rainy days. The tea is all in this post. Yes, we get rainy times of the year. No one wants a rainy wedding. It’s the biggest faux pas but do not worry. A wedding in Miami is still possible. Let’s begin with the diagram.

The “Cold” Months

The parenthesis in that title is quite essential. If you know anything about Miami, it’s that it’s not known for its cold weather. But every year we do get our fair share of winter. Those months are in January and February. At this point, the weather will decide to drop between the 50s and 70s which is a lot for us. When you’re accustomed to suntan weather every day, a switch to a cold breeze is definitely a game-changer. At this point, Miami will be one of two things: screaming and crying from freezing or pumping out the turtlenecks and riding boots they bought for this very moment. If you’re not from Miami, then you probably find this weather to not be wintery at all. And, you’re right but not on Miami standards. As for weddings, it’s the most wonderful time of year. The heat and rain are long gone on vacation at this point so you don’t have to worry about sweaty groomsmen or melted makeup. The cool weather mixed in with the sunshine makes it perfect for a destination wedding spot.

Spring Has Sprung

The ice has begun to melt at this point. March and April weather is just perfect for weddings. No more cold fronts or rain. Flowers are blooming birds are chirping and we still got sunshine. But don’t worry, you won’t get sunburns. These months are probably some of the most common for weddings simply because they have some of the best Miami weather without heat exhaustion. At this point, beautiful flowers and greenery are in bloom which makes for lovely decor and aesthetics. You also won’t have to worry about overly humid weather. Florida is known for that but at this time of year, our humidity levels are down by 67%. So if you’re looking for that in-between weather in Miami look no further!

Summer!

We have finally reached the months everyone avoids weddings in Miami for very obvious reasons. It's sweating season. No one wants melted cakes and frizzy hair but this season does have its perks. It’s definitely a low season but because of that vendors have much availability and are willing to work with budgets. This is definitely something to take into consideration. And while it may be sweaty season outdoors, there’s no reason to not book an inside venue. Miami offers many lovely inside venues for afternoon and evening weddings. Just because it’s Miami it doesn’t mean the wedding has to be outside. So take advantage of those summer months. They could definitely work for the better.

Fall

The weather during the fall time is optimal for wedding receptions as it can get cooler. Colors and aesthetics are richer. If you want to opt out of that summer look, the August, September, and October months are perfect. The coolest you can expect is about 73 with not much direct sunlight again. Think burgundy, orange, rust-colored hues. These shades can be beautiful for an outdoor ceremony in Homestead or anywhere with rustic decor. Many brides in Miami love having weddings during this time of year because of the creativity that can take place with decor. Just because the wedding is in Miami, doesn’t mean it has to be beach-themed in any way. There are definite ways to turn a very tropical place into something different. The right venue can coordinate your dream wedding.

November

This month is actually perfect for beach weather. Maybe you’re the bride that wants that beach-themed wedding so look no further than November. Sunsets are beautiful with the change and the weather begins to cool off a lot earlier. You won’t have to worry about hot evenings. With the sun setting earlier there will be less time for that excruciating Miami heat. Most beach weddings will take place during this time especially when it's the theme. This isn’t to say that you can only have a beach wedding. November is so close to the holidays that any style is possible. If you want to lean more towards the season festivities then definitely follow the fall hues and aesthetics. Again with Miamis venue options, any theme wedding can come to life.

Remember December

Finally, we’ve made it to the last month of the year. The most wonderful time of year. December weddings have their perks and not perks. For starters, the weather is pretty great if you don’t want to drown in your own sweat. Temperatures range from 63 to 78. Cool and breezy but not freezing. The brutal heat your used to is on vacation this time of year. As for decor, there are options. You can go in the holiday route with burgundy and Christmas wreaths or completely avoid and do some neutral greenery and minimalism. The choice is yours. But December is a good month!

There you have it, folks! Whether you’re a fellow Miamian or a bride in search of a destination spot - this blog post should be able to help. Just keep in mind that no month is going to necessarily be perfect. Each has got its pros and cons. So choose your month and be open to creativity in every area. Your dream wedding is possible but don’t sacrifice peace over perfection. Enjoy the ride! Until next time. Happy bridaling!

2022 Wedding Trends

We’ve talked about bridal trends before but now that it’s 2022 it’s important that we discuss the latest ones. Now, yes we’re only two months into the new year but the trends are already rolling in. You’d think weddings would remain the same since they’ve been around forever but the answer is no. Trends come and go. They pop out of nowhere and then disappear. So in today's blog, we are going to cover just that. These are not just bridal style trends by the way. They cover style, interiors, aesthetics, and headpieces. Keep on reading to get the inside scoop.

Bow Headpieces

First, we want to discuss one of the most popular trends we have been seeing in bridal style. And that is the bow headpiece. Ariana Grande started this with her wedding last year in May. The singer wore a bow-style veil by Vera Wang. Since then the trend has spiraled down the aisle of most weddings. A bow is a classic touch to many elegant looks. Think of 50s glam but modernized. It's fun, feminine, and flirty. The reason we’re seeing these is because of the urge trends are taking in going backward in order to move forward. Even the most original trends are really pointing back to something that has been done before. But that is the beauty of style and fashion. For these bows, we’re gonna have variations depending on the bride. Some will sport them on their head alone, attached to the veil, or in the back of the dress. The possibilities are endless but we are here for all of them.

Regency Aesthetics

Next, we have the most striking trend of last year. Regency Era. With all those shoes taking us back to the elite 1800s, the bridal style has taken hints from the ladies and lords. But style is not the only inspiration being taken. Aesthetics are a high priority. Wedding interiors and decor have been looking to these times for inspiration. Many of these tablescape ideas include tea sets, mismatched china, vintage silverware. On the bridal style side, we will see lots of puff sleeves, delicate lace gloves, and pearl veils. We love this trend and are totally here for it. If you’re reading this without any clue, take a look at some shows and movies such as Bridgerton, The Great, and Pride and Prejudice.

60s Mod

We’ve discussed many different sides to trends but let's solely hit the dresses and style. 60s style has come into the bridal world and we’re really loving it. This style can be seen in dresses, accessories, makeup, hair, and shoes. To begin let's discuss dress style. Some popular cuts are A-line dresses, short dresses, and shoulder-length veils. Many celebrities have been opting for this style by shortening their hems and even taking the beauty route. Hair and makeup have also taken trends by storm. Think of Brigitte Bardot and her icon beehive do. This kind of style with the curtain bangs has been another form 60s mod style. As for makeup. Some popular options are the bottoms lashes, white eyeliner, and cut crease doe-eyed look. If this sounds like your taste, then the mod style is definitely for you. Again trends come and go, and right now this is it.

COLOR!

A major trend rising that you’d never except? Color! Weddings are known for the signature shade of white but this year we are saying way more color. Color is being spread in just about every area you can think of. From decor to engagement rings, to table to scapes to even veils. The reason for this trend? We’ve seen white for so long but believe it or not, The very first wedding dresses were actually blue because it was connected to purity and innocence. Now it may not be representing the same thing anymore but brides definitely want the color back. Engagement rings have been headed in the special gems route. We’re seeing lots of rubies, sapphire, and emerald rings on brides. In addition to that is the decor. While it's safe to stay in a neutral route many tablescapes are containing colorful details. And lastly is the latest and probably newest trend -colorful veil. That addition is definitely new but lovely nonetheless. It is safe to say that we are here for it.

Heirloom Style Gifts

Another area for new trends is gifting. It might sound a little odd. Everyone is used to the registry, buying, and that's it. But lately, we’ve seen a resurgence of more meaningful gifts for the couple. Things with monograms, names, and dates. Custom cutting boards, cake knives, and cutlery have been top-hit gifts. It makes sense if you think about it. Gone are the days when you gift fine china that never gets used. The times are way more sustainable now and full of more intentional gifts. Many gifts like this can be purchased on Etsy already pre-custom-made. Any couple would love a gift like this. There’s no going wrong with a sentiment that can turn into a family heirloom.

Destination Inspired Weddings

Lastly, we have destination-inspired weddings. While many destinations were put on hold due to the pandemic, many couples have decided to create a spin on this idea by bringing the destination to the wedding. That means passport-style invitations, beach-themed bachelorettes, location-inspired tablescapes, and much more. Creativity is at its peak with weddings this year and we totally see why. Sometimes you gotta think outside of the box instead of getting limited by it. So put your thinking caps on and get creative with your themes. Whether local or destination, don’t stop dreaming.

There you have it, folks! 2022 trends in just about every area. Bridal, aesthetics, decor, makeup, gifts, etc. There are so many new ways to get creative and find your style for your wedding. It’s your day and truthfully you can do what you want. If you had no idea, now you might have some. Until next time. Happy bridaling!

How To Have Date Nights While Wedding Planning

We all know that planning a wedding is an in-depth process. You can’t do it alone. That's why some people do it for a living. Whether planning this wedding is a one-person job or two, it's important to have moments where you and your partner slow down and take it all in. Finding time to have date nights is hard when everything revolves around that big day. That is why in today's blog post we are focusing on just that. Keep reading for some ideas on date nights during this season.

To start, we want to address the unrealistic expectations you might have. Dates night during this season doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. The point is to make time to have that quality time. There are many ways to do that while still planning your wedding. There are options depending on your situation. If you as the bride are the main planner while your partner works then some great ideas will include wedding planning date ideas. If you are both planning the wedding and would much rather take a break, then some lowkey weekend dates can be your best fit. Regardless of your situation, we have some ideas that can cater to any couple in any circumstance. The goal is to connect with each other and not lose intimacy in the midst of stress. It can be very easy to get so caught up in the stress of this day that you become distant from one another. That is completely normal but we want to make sure that you don’t find yourself there. But if you do, we want to help you get out.

Wedding Planning Dates

If wedding planning is the only time you have together, then take advantage of it. Food testing trials are great moments to turn into dates. Take a Saturday or an evening during the week to turn this wedding planning moment into a date. Get all dressed up, try out some good food and get some pics for the gram or just yourself. Quality time is going to make this the most memorable season. You just have to be intentional. And we didn’t forget about the cake tasting. That’s another great event to turn into a date. You, your boo and some cake.

Staycation Dates

Once again, we don’t expect you to have extravagant dates. You don’t have to spend more money then you already are! Some fun ways to spend time together are through staycation/local dates. Movie nights, cooking nights, beach days, afternoon picnics, Harry Potter marathon, at-home brunch dates, etc. The possibilities of dates are endless. You just gotta get creative! Pick a tv series or movies series binge it on a free night. If you’re a foodie, then find a recipe you can make together for a dinner date. If you got a major sweet tooth though, find a yummy dessert and get baking! If you’re a little more outdoorsy, then pack a basket with your favorite foods and have a picnic at the park. If you’re near a beach, then go get your tan on before walking down the aisle. Beach dates are a great way to spend time and relax. But don’t forget your sunscreen because red skin down the aisle is not cute. These are just some of our ideas. Feel free to make it your own and have fun with it!

Wellness Dates

For the more active couple, we recommend working out together. Block off an hour or two a week do some couples workouts. This is a great way to spend time but also release stress. Physical activity during a stressful season is good for any individual because of the stress that it releases. Stress creates tension and knots in the muscles so a good workout will really release all that good stuff. Another good wellness alternative is a couple of massge. This will definitely release all stress while also creating an opportunity for intimacy as a couple. So whether you’re going to the gym, workout class, at-home workout, or getting a massage just remember to be in tune with your body. Throughout stressful times we tend to neglect ourselves in the area of our bodies. Becoming aware of it together as a couple not only creates optimal time to spend together but also keeps you accountable.

There you have it. Some of our ideas for your date nights. Wedding season is said to be completely stressful. And it very well can be. But you gotta make the best of it. It is very easy for a couple to create distance during this time because of the laundry list of things to do. But the most important thing is to be intentional with each other. Make the most of the smallest moments. A relationship is built on that. And during the wedding planning season, you’re going to want to hold on to that. Until next time. Happy bridaling!

Where To Shop For All Your Bridal Events

Let’s set the scene for you. You just got engaged and found your dream wedding dress. The venue, flowers, and decor are covered. But then you realize that besides the actual wedding day, you have NOTHING to wear. There are many events surrounding the wedding that are not the actual day that a bride needs outfits for. It’s okay if you just realized this. Many brides don’t realize until they look into their barren closet. But don’t worry, we’ve thought about it and have got you covered. There are a couple of events surrounding a wedding where a bride will need something to wear. Let us name a few: engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette weekend, and the rehearsal dinner. These are the main events most wedding seasons carry. Some brides will combine some events or skip others but overall there are 4 events. These four events are all leading up to THE day. Just because it is not the actual day does not mean that you don’t have to care about how you look. That is why we are here to help you figure what to wear and where to shop for all these bridal-related events. If you’ve just encountered this scenario, keep on reading to see how you can solve it.

What To Wear

Now, we want to keep this very simple for you because there is no need to get overwhelmed. With that being said, we want to present different outfit options. There’s this myth that because you’re a bride you have to wear dresses and they all have to be white. That is not necessarily true. As a bride, white is your color and you’re free to wear it but there is room for more. So let us first debunk that idea. Secondly, is the “dress” idea. Again, as a bride, you call the shots. Because you do, we want to present the option of a romper, pantsuit, and even top/skirt set. These options will keep it fun and different. The wedding day is meant for the main white event but the other events have some wiggle room. Choosing something other than a dress can be fun. Now, if you’re fully a dress girl then go for it. And while you’re at it, experiment with different styles. Midi, mini, maxi, off-the-shoulder, slip, square kneck -the opportunities are endless!

Places To Shop

Before you ask, we’ve done the research for you. There are many shops out there (mainly online) that have all the options and ideas that you might be looking for as a bride with upcoming events. All these websites range from different prices. There is something for every budget. Our first pick is Revolve. Maybe you’ve heard of them and maybe you’ve shopped there before. Revolve is a one-stop online shop for all your party/event needs. On this site, you’ll have all the options you need. Especially if you’re not looking for a white dress. A dress rehearsal look will definitely be on Revolve. This online shop carries many favorite brands. It’s sort of like a Nordstrom for the cool-girl style. The next online shop option is Lulus. Everyone and their mother has heard of this shop. They are known for having great formal dresses for any event. If any of your bridal events are a little fancier in attire, Lulus will be your place. Their styles range from all kinds of colors and fits. Whether the look you’re looking for is midi, maxi, off the shoulder, etc. This shop is going to be more budget-friendly than the first with many options under $100. They also range in many inclusive size options from XXS-XXL. The next shop is probably the most fitting for this blog post. BHLDN carries all things bridal. From bridal to elopement to rehearsal dinner styles. They specialize in bridal wardrobes and we are here for it. Budget-wise, it is on the pricier side but we know that you’ll find something you love. The colors range from whites to light pinks. They even carry co-ord sets & jumpsuits. Another important detail to mention about BHLDN is that they carry bridesmaids and mother of the bride dresses. This online shop alone will make your life extremely easier! Our last shop to share with you is Lela Rose. This website hits the pricier side but has a variety of styles! Lela Rose is a designer from New York that is pretty well known for her artistic and luxury pieces. This final pick is our most luxurious but quite well worth it. Her pieces and fabric are structured in such an artistic and unique way. This site also carries bridal styles. You will definitely find something to love for any upcoming bridal event.

There you have it! We hope we’ve helped clear your questions and concerns about where to shop for other bridal events. Decisions like this can be overwhelming during wedding planning season but that’s where this blog comes into play. We strive to answer all the tedious and worrisome questions that may come up. Like we mentioned earlier the wedding dress is not the only outfit you need to buy. And Forever 21 and Zara aren’t going to cut it for this special season. So check out these online shops and pick some of your faves. The opportunities are endless. Whether you want white or not. Or you’re looking for something less traditional for your season. Remember, there’s no right answer. As long as you feel your best! Until next time. Happy bridal-ing!
