2022 Wedding Trends

We’ve talked about bridal trends before but now that it’s 2022 it’s important that we discuss the latest ones. Now, yes we’re only two months into the new year but the trends are already rolling in. You’d think weddings would remain the same since they’ve been around forever but the answer is no. Trends come and go. They pop out of nowhere and then disappear. So in today's blog, we are going to cover just that. These are not just bridal style trends by the way. They cover style, interiors, aesthetics, and headpieces. Keep on reading to get the inside scoop.

Bow Headpieces

First, we want to discuss one of the most popular trends we have been seeing in bridal style. And that is the bow headpiece. Ariana Grande started this with her wedding last year in May. The singer wore a bow-style veil by Vera Wang. Since then the trend has spiraled down the aisle of most weddings. A bow is a classic touch to many elegant looks. Think of 50s glam but modernized. It's fun, feminine, and flirty. The reason we’re seeing these is because of the urge trends are taking in going backward in order to move forward. Even the most original trends are really pointing back to something that has been done before. But that is the beauty of style and fashion. For these bows, we’re gonna have variations depending on the bride. Some will sport them on their head alone, attached to the veil, or in the back of the dress. The possibilities are endless but we are here for all of them.

Regency Aesthetics

Next, we have the most striking trend of last year. Regency Era. With all those shoes taking us back to the elite 1800s, the bridal style has taken hints from the ladies and lords. But style is not the only inspiration being taken. Aesthetics are a high priority. Wedding interiors and decor have been looking to these times for inspiration. Many of these tablescape ideas include tea sets, mismatched china, vintage silverware. On the bridal style side, we will see lots of puff sleeves, delicate lace gloves, and pearl veils. We love this trend and are totally here for it. If you’re reading this without any clue, take a look at some shows and movies such as Bridgerton, The Great, and Pride and Prejudice.

60s Mod

We’ve discussed many different sides to trends but let's solely hit the dresses and style. 60s style has come into the bridal world and we’re really loving it. This style can be seen in dresses, accessories, makeup, hair, and shoes. To begin let's discuss dress style. Some popular cuts are A-line dresses, short dresses, and shoulder-length veils. Many celebrities have been opting for this style by shortening their hems and even taking the beauty route. Hair and makeup have also taken trends by storm. Think of Brigitte Bardot and her icon beehive do. This kind of style with the curtain bangs has been another form 60s mod style. As for makeup. Some popular options are the bottoms lashes, white eyeliner, and cut crease doe-eyed look. If this sounds like your taste, then the mod style is definitely for you. Again trends come and go, and right now this is it.

COLOR!

A major trend rising that you’d never except? Color! Weddings are known for the signature shade of white but this year we are saying way more color. Color is being spread in just about every area you can think of. From decor to engagement rings, to table to scapes to even veils. The reason for this trend? We’ve seen white for so long but believe it or not, The very first wedding dresses were actually blue because it was connected to purity and innocence. Now it may not be representing the same thing anymore but brides definitely want the color back. Engagement rings have been headed in the special gems route. We’re seeing lots of rubies, sapphire, and emerald rings on brides. In addition to that is the decor. While it's safe to stay in a neutral route many tablescapes are containing colorful details. And lastly is the latest and probably newest trend -colorful veil. That addition is definitely new but lovely nonetheless. It is safe to say that we are here for it.

Heirloom Style Gifts

Another area for new trends is gifting. It might sound a little odd. Everyone is used to the registry, buying, and that's it. But lately, we’ve seen a resurgence of more meaningful gifts for the couple. Things with monograms, names, and dates. Custom cutting boards, cake knives, and cutlery have been top-hit gifts. It makes sense if you think about it. Gone are the days when you gift fine china that never gets used. The times are way more sustainable now and full of more intentional gifts. Many gifts like this can be purchased on Etsy already pre-custom-made. Any couple would love a gift like this. There’s no going wrong with a sentiment that can turn into a family heirloom.

Destination Inspired Weddings

Lastly, we have destination-inspired weddings. While many destinations were put on hold due to the pandemic, many couples have decided to create a spin on this idea by bringing the destination to the wedding. That means passport-style invitations, beach-themed bachelorettes, location-inspired tablescapes, and much more. Creativity is at its peak with weddings this year and we totally see why. Sometimes you gotta think outside of the box instead of getting limited by it. So put your thinking caps on and get creative with your themes. Whether local or destination, don’t stop dreaming.

There you have it, folks! 2022 trends in just about every area. Bridal, aesthetics, decor, makeup, gifts, etc. There are so many new ways to get creative and find your style for your wedding. It’s your day and truthfully you can do what you want. If you had no idea, now you might have some. Until next time. Happy bridaling!

How To Have Date Nights While Wedding Planning

We all know that planning a wedding is an in-depth process. You can’t do it alone. That's why some people do it for a living. Whether planning this wedding is a one-person job or two, it's important to have moments where you and your partner slow down and take it all in. Finding time to have date nights is hard when everything revolves around that big day. That is why in today's blog post we are focusing on just that. Keep reading for some ideas on date nights during this season.

To start, we want to address the unrealistic expectations you might have. Dates night during this season doesn’t have to be extravagant or expensive. The point is to make time to have that quality time. There are many ways to do that while still planning your wedding. There are options depending on your situation. If you as the bride are the main planner while your partner works then some great ideas will include wedding planning date ideas. If you are both planning the wedding and would much rather take a break, then some lowkey weekend dates can be your best fit. Regardless of your situation, we have some ideas that can cater to any couple in any circumstance. The goal is to connect with each other and not lose intimacy in the midst of stress. It can be very easy to get so caught up in the stress of this day that you become distant from one another. That is completely normal but we want to make sure that you don’t find yourself there. But if you do, we want to help you get out.

Wedding Planning Dates

If wedding planning is the only time you have together, then take advantage of it. Food testing trials are great moments to turn into dates. Take a Saturday or an evening during the week to turn this wedding planning moment into a date. Get all dressed up, try out some good food and get some pics for the gram or just yourself. Quality time is going to make this the most memorable season. You just have to be intentional. And we didn’t forget about the cake tasting. That’s another great event to turn into a date. You, your boo and some cake.

Staycation Dates

Once again, we don’t expect you to have extravagant dates. You don’t have to spend more money then you already are! Some fun ways to spend time together are through staycation/local dates. Movie nights, cooking nights, beach days, afternoon picnics, Harry Potter marathon, at-home brunch dates, etc. The possibilities of dates are endless. You just gotta get creative! Pick a tv series or movies series binge it on a free night. If you’re a foodie, then find a recipe you can make together for a dinner date. If you got a major sweet tooth though, find a yummy dessert and get baking! If you’re a little more outdoorsy, then pack a basket with your favorite foods and have a picnic at the park. If you’re near a beach, then go get your tan on before walking down the aisle. Beach dates are a great way to spend time and relax. But don’t forget your sunscreen because red skin down the aisle is not cute. These are just some of our ideas. Feel free to make it your own and have fun with it!

Wellness Dates

For the more active couple, we recommend working out together. Block off an hour or two a week do some couples workouts. This is a great way to spend time but also release stress. Physical activity during a stressful season is good for any individual because of the stress that it releases. Stress creates tension and knots in the muscles so a good workout will really release all that good stuff. Another good wellness alternative is a couple of massge. This will definitely release all stress while also creating an opportunity for intimacy as a couple. So whether you’re going to the gym, workout class, at-home workout, or getting a massage just remember to be in tune with your body. Throughout stressful times we tend to neglect ourselves in the area of our bodies. Becoming aware of it together as a couple not only creates optimal time to spend together but also keeps you accountable.

There you have it. Some of our ideas for your date nights. Wedding season is said to be completely stressful. And it very well can be. But you gotta make the best of it. It is very easy for a couple to create distance during this time because of the laundry list of things to do. But the most important thing is to be intentional with each other. Make the most of the smallest moments. A relationship is built on that. And during the wedding planning season, you’re going to want to hold on to that. Until next time. Happy bridaling!

How To Relax The Week Of Your Wedding

Welcome back! In this week’s blog post we are going to be discussing how to relax the week of your wedding. The final months, weeks, and days are all important but the weeks especially. No matter how long or short your engagement was it was probably jam-packed, stressful, and very busy. Don’t worry. That comes with the territory. But these last few weeks should be the most relaxing ones. It’s totally okay if you can’t find it possible to relax. And it’s also okay if you don’t have a worry in the world. We all deal with stress and events differently. So no matter where you fall, we have created a list of some tips and things you can do as a bride before her wedding. All these can be a month before to weeks before and even days. It’s all about you and getting pampered so read down below to learn more.

Skincare

The face is the money maker always. Stress can cause breakouts and we know you don’t want a pimple walking down the aisle with you. This is where the Hydrafacial comes in. A Hydrafacial cleanses, extracts, and hydrates for a glowing finish. This is the kind of facial you want to get before any event. The best way to do it is 2 weeks before the wedding or 4-5 days. It all depends on your skin. But a small treatment like this will help relax you and remove any stress off of you. And of course, make you glow for the next month or so. These facials can be pricey but are definitely worth it. No need to dumb down here. It’s your day so you better splurge on your skincare.

Spa Time

Since we are on the topic of skincare and luxe experiences, we could not leave out massages. A full-body massage will ensure you are physically relaxed. Stress tends to show up in our bodies through our muscles. Working out those muscles and knots will help reduce stress and have you enter into the most zen state. You could even book this massage and facial at the same time. Many spas offer deluxe packages that include all these treatments. It would even be fun to get this done with your sisters, best friends, or bridal party.

Mani/Pedi

Now this one is obvious but still worth mentioning. Get your nails done! Mani and pedis are in order for this season. Especially for the day of. You’re going to want to get this done a couple of days before the wedding just so your nails are very fresh. For your wedding, you’re going to want to choose a neutral light shade and match your hands and feet. Some great shades are Bubble Bath and Funny Bunny by OPI. If you want to do something a little more fun but still neutral then definitely go for a french manicure. A manicure like this is timeless, goes with everything, and looks good no matter what. Something important to mention is the type of manicure you get. If you’re a mani/pedi every 2 weeks girl, then you can skim over this. But if you’re not, then you’re going to want to get a gel or dip manicure. Do not get regular polish. A gel or dip manicure will last long. About 2-3 weeks so it will look great on your honeymoon.

Exercise

Next, we are going to touch base on wellness. Whether you’re an active bride or not, physical activity is going to work to your benefit here. And if you think, this doesn’t make any sense, keep on reading. Physical activity such as yoga, pilates, and any kind of stimulating routines are very beneficial to the sleep cycle. When coming upon a very important event our bodies can naturally be prone to over-stressing, doing their own thing, and in turn, taking away your rest. Actively stimulating and working your body will help create a routine of rest that will be very beneficial for that day. If you’re not regular in working out, try taking a hot girl walk or light jog to get your blood pumping.

Sleep

Our next tip is going to cover sleep. Many times we think that we need the absolute most possible sleep before an event. But truthfully there is a limit to that amount of sleep. Based on research about 8 hours is enough sleep. 12+ hours will actually work against you and make you lethargic. This amount of sleep will also create heavy eye bags which is not a cute look on your special day. So try to cut down on that sleep. Get a good amount but not too much.

Movie Night

One of the last tips for relaxation we are going to give you is to binge your fave shows or movies. If there’s a show you’ve been meaning to catch up on while in your wedding season, now is the time. Or maybe a comforting movie with the girls. This is also the time to catch up on all those wedding movies that you haven’t been able to watch. We’ve got another blog on that so don’t forget to check it out.

There you have it! A couple of ways to de-stress and relax before your big day. You deserve it. After a long and perhaps stressful planning season, it’s important to look after yourself and have a self-care moment. So if you’re stuck on how to relax, make sure to hit all our tips above. You’ll be more than zen for your day. And remember to just let go and have fun. A wedding is a one-day thing. It can’t be perfect but it can be memorable. So throw your worries away and remember to make the most of it. Until next time. Happy bridal-ing!

How To Prepare Your Bridesmaid Boxes

Proposals for different occasions have become a very popular trend. There are prom-proposals, wedding proposals, and bridesmaid proposals. You’ve probably already heard but a Bridesmaid proposal is when a bride proposes to a friend by asking her to be a bridesmaid. This has become a more modern tradition but definitely a fun one. There’s no right or wrong way to go about it. The point is to make it fun and enjoyable for the bridesmaid. Below we have listed different ideas and gifts to help prepare your boxes.

As long as there is something to carry the goods, it does not matter. Bridesmaid proposals tend to include a gift of some kind. The gifts vary but they are always delivered in a box or some kind of basket. Whichever you choose, make sure it fits your elements of choice. Some great places to find these are Amazon, Target, or even Michaels. Choosing a box will allow you to have the element of surprise when presenting them to each bridesmaid. Boxes can even be decorated on the outside with ribbons, twine, and their name. If you choose a basket, the display will be a little more elaborate so you’re going to want to make sure that you go in that direction.

Now, let’s transition to the inside of the basket. Bridesmaid boxes are always best when personalized. There are many ways to go about this. Some options include mugs, to-go cups, makeup bags, scrunchies, roses, beauty products, photos, calendars, planners, etc. Any of these options with personalization and/or monogramming. Many of these added inside details can be purchased on Etsy, Target, Amazon, Sephora and Ulta. These boxes are hte kind of boxes you’re going to want to be budget friendly with. Many brides choose to go in this route because it can get costly. Some inexpensive but cute products to buy can be found at target. The $5 under section has all kinds of knick knacks such as calendars, candles, mugs, home decor stuff that can all fit into a box. Next moving on to some beauty add ins we have sephora/ulta. The key here is to purchase the travel size products. While waiting in line at either of these stores you can purchase an array of beauty products that can be great add ins to these boxes. Personalizing is key here. If one your girls is all about makeup, then add a travel size lipstick, mascara or blush. For the skincare girl, you can add travel size face wash, lip/eye cream and facial mists. And for a hair girl you can add travel size oils, hairspray, dry shampoo and clips. Next is personalization. Two great ways to do this is with photos and monogramming. Adding mugs, to go cups with the girls name on it is a great way to make it unique to the bridesmaid. These are things they can use on the bachelorette trip and day of the wedding. Another nice touch is tiny bottle of Rose. This is always nice because it adds variety, its fun and very pretty. The last we’ll mention is a photo of the bride and bridesmaid. This will be the most personalized touch of the box.

Next, we want to hit a minor detail that makes the world of a difference. Color schemes. Bridesmaid boxes are usually gifted in rosy, pink, pastel tones. We have found those shades to be very delicate and complimentary. But when choosing your shades, we recommend thinking of your own weddings color palette. Matching your weddings color palette makes the most sense. If your wedding theme is pastels, then you don’t want yourbox to be navy hues. It just doesn’t make sense. Now, perhaps you’ve already thought of this but just incase someone hadn’t we are here to help. When choosing these hues try to go for something evergreen, airy and delicate. Timeless shades will never go out of style. Especially if you are gifting silk robes or a t shirt for your girls.

There you have it. Some of our best tips, tricks and ideas for preparing your bridesmaid boxes. This experience is probably going to be one of the most fun before the heavy planning comes into play. Especially if you love gift giving. This moment is so special between the bride and bridesmaids. It’s a moment to reflect on the closeness of the relationship between you and the girl you’ve chosen. A special moment that doesn’t come very often. And only happens once, hopefully. That’s all from us for now. Until next time, happy bridal-ing!

How To Choose Your Bridesmaids Dresses

A wedding dress is very important. It is the most important dress for this occasion. That is obvious. But something that is overlooked at times is the bridesmaid dresses. Bridesmaids’ dresses are important for this special day because they have the job of complimenting the wedding dress. If your girls are gonna be right at your side, they better look good and make you look good. With that being said, for today’s blog, we are focusing on just that. How do you pick the right dress for your girls? Keep reading down below to find out.

To begin, it’s important to keep the bride’s dress in mind. When choosing these dresses for your girls, attire, and style are very crucial. If the bride is more laid back and boho, you’re going to want a dress within the same style. The key is to not overdress the bride. The bride is the best dressed. The bridesmaids are the accessories that compliment her.  The same goes for any dress depending on the bride style. If the bride is in a ballgown, the bridesmaids will need to step up their dresses. A simple slip dress will not do. There is also the question of dress style. There are a couple of ways to go about this. There is the option of identical dresses for each bridesmaid. Different style dresses in the same shade for each bridesmaid. And lastly, the different style dresses within the wedding color palette. There is no right or wrong way to do this. As long as the bride is being complimented. Especially since there will be photos and videos.

Now that we have covered all the territories, let us dive into the details. As discussed earlier, it is important that the bridesmaid’s dresses somewhat match the bride but not identically. For example, if the bride is wearing a strapless with lace detailing, you don’t want the bridesmaid to match that identically because then it would steal the bride’s show. The keyword is complement.

Different Styles

There are a couple of options and styles that will complement a bride no matter waht. The first is the slip dress. This style of dress has become very popular for weddings. They tend to work for most body types and can be found in an array of colors. This dress can also be formed into a midi or maxi length style. Another popular option is a halter-style dress. This one is most flattering as a maxi length but can also be done in a midi style. A midi style dress will also help “dress up” the look especially if it is a black-tie wedding. Midi styles will suit a semi-formal wedding more. Another style of dress is the asymmetrical shoulder. This new trendy option has been raiding the bridal world because of its unique fit. If your wedding is more modern and trendy, this type of dress could really tie in the overall look.. The last option we would like to share is the classic strapless maxi. Some modern variations have a high leg slit and reach above the ankle if you don’t want anything floor-length.

Body Types & Color Palettes

We’ve discussed different styles which are necessary ,since not all women have the same body type. Now, it’s time to hit the color palette topic. Naturally one would think to choose one simple pastel or dark romantic color for the bridesmaids. Truthfully there is no right or wrong. As long as they’re not wearing white. But a new trend has hit the horizon and we are here to share it. Different shades of bridesmaid dresses. Brides will choose a color palette and dress the bridesmaids in the colors of the palette. This can be a fun idea so that each bride feels unique and different while still complementing the bride. If you’re reading this and hating this, don’t worry, you don’t have to do this. You can totally have the same shade and same dress on all of your girls. But this is an in-between option. Finding a dress that can fit all body times is almost impossible. Unless all your brides have the same body type, you might want to consider dressing them in different styles within the same shade. Many weddings are beginning to do this since it can be difficult to find one very good dress for all bodies. Some women are curvier and some are slimmer. Some are shorter and some are taller. There’s no perfect physique but as a bride, it’s important to look out for your girls. You would want them to feel their best too. The beauty of this idea is that many websites now carry different styles within the same shade to make this plan possible.

We have covered dress style, colors and the picking of them. Remember that these dresses will appear next to you in your photos. It shouldn’t be a stressful process. Do not take this blog as an unnecessary worrier but more as a very helpful tip and push in the right direction. Many times bridesmaids are overlooked and probably don’t even like how they look. Maybe you’ve been there. And this isn’t to say that it is not your day. It is most certainly your day but we want to help make sure it runs smoothly for you and your girls.

There you have it. The best tips we can offer for choosing dresses for your bridesmaids. We hope that this blog post helped to alleviate some stresses, answer questions and bring light to any confusions. Remember that there is no right or wrong way to do things when planning your wedding day. It will flow how you want it. The one day you get everything you want so do not be afraid to go for it. But don’t overthink it too much. Stay positive in your mindset and just remember to have fun. This day only comes once (hopefully). That is all for now .Enjoy your wedding season. And until next time, happy bridaling!
